Botanical name: Leptospermum Scoparium
Botanical family: Myrtaceae

Note: Middle

Part of plant used: Leaves, small stems and twigs

Origin: New Zealand

Description: Woody and clean with sweet honey undertones

History: Used by the native New Zealanders, the Maori, for its antiseptic and healing properties. Known as the New Zealand Tea Tree.

Properties and Indications:

  • Highly anti-fungal, antibiotic and antiseptic
  • Healing to the skin (burns, wounds)
  • Intestinal infections
  • Athletes Foot, ringworm and other fungal conditions
  • Lung conditions such as bronchitis
  • Colds, sore throats and flu
  • Urinary infections such as cystitis and thrush
  • Joint pain
